Customs and Excise Reveals 360 Companies Already Enjoying KITE Facilities

The Director of Customs Facilities at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu), Untung Basuki, revealed that until July 31, 2022, DJBC noted that 360 companies had received import facilities for export purposes (KITE).

KITE facilities are fiscal facilities provided for the import of goods and materials that are processed, assembled, or installed for export purposes.

"In Indonesia, there are 360 ​​recipients. So he is a company that imports raw materials, then they are processed and then exported," said Untung during the 2022 Press Tour in Bandung, Wednesday (10/8/2022).

In detail, the business sectors receiving the KITE facility include 69 textile and apparel companies, 42 plastic goods companies, 31 chemical and pharmaceutical companies, 26 motor vehicle and component companies, 23 metal goods companies and 169 other companies.
Meanwhile, if viewed from the distribution, Jakarta is the province with the most recipients of KITE facilities with 97 companies. Followed by East Java with 80 companies, then in the third position is West Java with 60 companies. He explained that there are three types of KITE, the first is exemption KITE, namely exemption from import duty and value added tax (PPN) and sales tax on luxury goods (PPnBM) owed which are not collected on imports.

Then there is the return KITE which is a facility for returning import duties that have been paid for the import or entry of goods and materials originating from outside the customs area to be processed, assembled or installed on other goods for export purposes. "As well as KITE small and medium industries (IKM), namely exemption from the obligation to pay import duties, value added tax (VAT), and sales tax on luxury goods (PPnBM)," said Untung.
