Exports of Light Wood Products Increase 31 So Opportunities for BUMN
The government encourages various parties, including industry, to increase exports of light wood products. The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) assesses that the export potential of Indonesia's light wood products is still very wide open, due to the high world demand for these commodities.

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), in 2021 Indonesia's exports of light wood (plywood and flooring) were recorded at USD 3.2 billion or contributed 40% of Indonesia's total exports of wood products which amounted to USD 7.94 billion, an increase of 31% compared to the previous year with a global timber market share of USD 2.1 trillion.

Director of Commercial & Operations of PT Mega Eltra, Indrajaya said the increase in Indonesia's wood exports is an opportunity for Mega Eltra, which is a subsidiary of Pupuk Indonesia, to support through the procurement of raw materials to national private companies engaged in the wood forest product processing industry. Mega Eltra, which is a company engaged in trading, which in this case successively sells commercial urea fertilizer to a national private company as raw material for making plywood for export purposes, where the factory is located in the Yapen Islands, Papua Province, "said Indrajaya in a written statement, Monday (22/8/2022).

Meanwhile, SVP of Mega Eltra Trading Anita Damayanti added that last June Mega Eltra had supplied raw materials for Urea Prill which was sent by Franco Surabaya through a winning bid, in which Mega Eltra had won several tenders held by job owners since 2019. "Mega Eltra is committed to guaranteeing the quality of fertilizers supplied according to specifications, complying with occupational safety and health (K3) rules as well as applicable rules and regulations in the process of shipping, transporting and delivering goods and accurately time," said Anita. Export and Import Permits are Now Mandatory Through the Indonesia National Single Window System
The Minister of Trade (Mendag) Muhammad Lutfi has issued two export and import regulations. This rule is a derivative of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation.

The two rules are Minister of Trade Regulation (Permendag) Number 19 of 2021 concerning Export Policies and Regulations and Minister of Trade Regulation Number 20 of 2021 concerning Import Policies and Regulations.

With the enactment of this regulation, all regulations in the previous Minister of Trade related to exports and imports have now been revoked and declared no longer valid. However, business licenses that have been issued based on the previous regulations are declared to remain valid until their validity period ends.

Plt. The Director General of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Trade Indrasari Wisnu Wardhana said that one of the important changes in the regulation of export-import licensing with the enactment of these two Ministerial Regulations was the implementation of the Single Submission (SSm), namely the application of permits through the Indonesia National Single Window (INSW) System. The goal is to have data that is integrated between K/L and becomes a data superset to eliminate repetition and duplication.

Export and import licensing, continued Wisnu, is now easier and faster with the integration of the INATRADE system with the INSW system. Business actors submit applications through the INSW System, which is the hub for the licensing service system in all relevant K/Ls. So that business actors no longer need to open related K/L portals to meet licensing requirements, especially in the export and import fields.

"In addition to speed and convenience, this import-export business license issued with the Single Submission (SSm) system also uses digital signatures and barcodes to guarantee the authenticity and security of data and information in business licensing documents," said Wisnu in a statement. written, Sunday (12/12/2021).
